A question that Tim Ferriss uses to think about problems in different ways is to ask, “What would this look like if it were easy?” We tend to overcomplicate things and make them bigger in our head. Sometimes, interupting this by asking if it were easy, dispels that tendency.
I really like this because it’s not trying to hide the underlying complexity of the real world but imagine the possibility that it could be straightforward in spite of that. I also find that it encourages giving it a try—maybe it seems hard because I’ve never done it before.
